  • August 2022 - Chavali Lab opens its doors!

  • October 2022 — We were excited to welcome Joshua Page to the laboratory as a postbaccalaureate research assistant.

  • June 2023 — The laboratory received its first extramural funding award through the Race to Erase MS Young Investigator Award.

  • August 2023 — Iris Farnum joined the laboratory as a postbaccalaureate research assistant.

  • September 2023 — We were thrilled to welcome Thad Kunkel to the lab as a postdoctoral fellow.

  • March 2024 — The laboratory received an NINDS supplement award in support of the R00 program.

  • June 2024 — Isa Maxwell joined the laboratory as a graduate student.

  • July 2024 — The laboratory received support from the Laura Fund for Innovation in MS Research.

  • October 2024 — Congratulations to Joshua Page on beginning his graduate studies at LMU Munich.

  • January 2025 — The laboratory received a Medical Research Foundation New Investigator Award.

  • March 2025 — The laboratory received funding support from the Collis Medical Trust.

  • April 2025 — Congratulations to Iris Farnum on her acceptance into the PhD program at Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine.

  • July 2025 — Congratulations to Thad Kunkel, whose NINDS-F32 fellowship application received an outstanding 4th percentile score.

  • December 2025 — A major milestone for the lab: our first NINDS R01 application scored in the 3rd percentile after four submissions.

  • January 2026 — Exciting news as Thad Kunkel’s NINDS F32 fellowship was officially funded.

  • February 2026 — Congratulations to Thad Kunkel on receiving a postdoctoral fellowship from the National Multiple Sclerosis Society.

  • May 2026 — Congratulations to Iris Farnum on the acceptance of her manuscript in Journal of Neuroscience, which was also selected for the journal cover.

  • May 2026 — Congratulations to Isa Maxwell on being awarded an NINDS F31 fellowship.
